TRENTON SMALL BUSINESS WEEK 2007 SET FOR OCTOBER 15TH – 19TH
With the theme of “Connecting Businesses in the Capital Region”, Trenton Small Business Week is celebrating its 14th anniversary from October 15th – October 19th. The City of Trenton will play host to a weeklong celebration of activities for businesses, entrepreneurs, and individuals starting or changing careers. More than 30,000 business owners and entrepreneurs have benefited throughout the years from the activities of this special week, held in the fall of each year.
The week kicks off with a celebration breakfast at the Trenton Marriott on Monday, October 15 at 8:00 a.m. At this event Mayor Douglas H. Palmer will present the annual Mayor’s Awards recognizing City businesses for their outstanding contributions to the community. Other special events scheduled for the week include the monthly luncheon of the Mercer Regional Chamber of Commerce (MRCC) on Tuesday, October 16 and their Expo on Wednesday, October 17. In addition, the Renaissance Ball of Trenton is being hosted on Friday, October 19th at the Marriott. Proceeds of this event will benefit the Old Barracks and the Arts and Business Council of the MRCC.
“This week has always been a highlight within my administration. Having the opportunity to showcase Trenton and its many successful enterprises is truly a pleasure” states Mayor Palmer. He continues “my role as President of the U.S. Conference of Mayors has only heightened my appreciation for and commitment to the wonderful City of Trenton.”
Special seminars and workshops scheduled for the week include: You CAN do Business with the State; Advertising: What Works for You; Developing Your Brand; How to Start a Small Business; Networking: How to Work a Room; Patents, Trademarks, and Copyright; Small Business Websites – What You Need to Know; Financial Goal Setting: Break Even Today, Profitable Tomorrow.
“This weeklong event provides an outstanding opportunity for companies to showcase themselves and meet with area business leaders” states Mayor Palmer. Sponsorship opportunities for Trenton Small Business Week are still available to area businesses. The sponsorship levels are $7,500 –Event Sponsor; $5,000 – Private Sponsor; $2,500 – Public Seminar; $1,500 –Foundation Sponsor; $1,000 – Enterprise Sponsor; $500 – Business Sponsor.
Trenton Small Business Week is presented by the City of Trenton, the County of Mercer and its many sponsors and business partners. Chaired by Anthony P. Carabelli, Jr., the committee includes representatives from county and city government, non-profit organizations and the private sector.
