The 15th annual Trenton Small Business Week will kick off with a discussion about the “Opportunity of Trenton” led by local business developer David Henderson, a registered architect and principal of HHG Development Associates. Dave will highlight what makes Trenton a great opportunity for the careful businessperson now and how the pro-City macro trends will continue to make the opportunities grow.
Networking time, local entertainment and a chance to cheer for the success of Mayor Douglas H. Palmer’s annual award winners in three categories – Small Business of the Year, Most Improved Appearance and Most Successful New Business - will also be part of this must-attend kick off event.

MAKING SENSE OF THE FAMILY LEAVE ACT

The highlight at the end of Small Business Week is the Renaissance Ball of Trenton, presented by the Trenton Chapter of the Mercer Regional Chamber of Commerce. This formal dinner-dance begins with a 6:00 pm cocktail hour for socializing and networking, accompanied by jazz musicians and a children’s choir. The Shiloh Baptist Church Choir offers music during dinner and the Renaissance Orchestra entertains for the remainder of the evening. Among the event’s honorees are Thomas Edison State College, the Boys and Girls Club, Capital Health System at Fuld, and Johnny Morris of WIMG, all of whom demonstrate outstanding community service and promote area business. Proceeds will benefit the Passage Theater and the Chamber's newly formed "Arts and Business Council of Greater Trenton", which helps bring resources and support to area arts and cultural institutions.
